The Janitor, Laundry Operations is responsible for cleaning and maintaining the cleanliness of the laundry plant as well as common areas while meeting quality and timeliness standards. A Janitor, Laundry Operations must ensure he or she follows the company mission statement and values. The purpose of this position is to perform custodial work in offices, warehouses, industrial areas and other building interiors.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Maintain a high standard of excellence.
  • Clean public and common areas.
  • Plant/equipment blowdown
  • Clean and polish all public and common area floors.
  • Maintain storage closets clean and organized.
  • Empty all interior and exterior trash cans.
  • Keep parking lot and outside of building free of debris and trash.
  • Accept supply deliveries as necessary.
  • Operate forklift, lift equipment and motorized pallet jack as needed, to accomplish goals.
  • Report unit maintenance issues as per company procedure.
  • Walk all assigned areas to ensure all are clean and trash free.
  • Report lost and found items to the Plant Manager.
  • Able to move furniture as directed.
  • Ensure a safe working environment while on site.
  • Willing and able to perform all duties related to site operation as directed by the Plant Manager.
  • Maintain a sense of urgency so that all assigned areas maintain standard of cleanliness.
  • Personal timeliness. Be prompt with all assignments and appointments.
  • Use supplies and equipment efficiently and effectively.
  • Perform routine inventory of supplies.
  • Create strong, positive, and collaborative across all departments.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

  • Previous experience in janitorial or housekeeping preferred
  • Forklift, material handling and lift equipment experience a plus (Certification Required)

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position works in an operations environment with odors and/or dust and cleaning and laundry chemicals. Additionally, this job operates in a professional office environment routinely using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, faxes, and filing cabinets.
