About Our FamilyWe are a busy, high-energy household, made up of two working parents with demanding careers, two active children, and a sweet rescue dog who loves a good adventure. Both parents travel for work and keep full, often unpredictable schedules. Between demanding professional lives and raising two children who are deeply involved in sports and school activities, our days move fast and our home reflects that beautiful, wonderful chaos.
Our children, both athletic, social, and full of energy. Our older child is very independent but needs reminders on transitions (i.e, reminders to pack water bottles, sports gear). Our younger child is full of energy and thrives with structure and a calm, steady presence when they get home after a long day. The after-school window matters a lot in our home. We want it to feel like a soft landing: gear organized, and someone warm and grounded there to meet them where they are.
Our home runs on good intentions and a lot of moving parts. Mornings start early, evenings are packed with practices and pickups, and the in-between hours are where things tend to pile up - laundry half-switched, dishes from breakfast still in the sink, a grocery list that never quite gets ordered. We use a Skylight calendar to try to keep everything visible, but honestly, it's underutilized, and we'd love someone who sees that tool as a natural way to communicate and coordinate rather than waiting to be told what's next.
We are a family that values clear communication, and a thoughtful approach to health and wellness. Reliability, initiative, and warmth are qualities we prioritize highly in the people we invite into our home.
We've had the opportunity to work with exceptional household professionals in the past and understand the tremendous impact the right person can have on a family's daily life. We're looking for someone who is proactive, trustworthy, and takes genuine ownership of their role-someone who anticipates needs, follows through, and helps create a sense of calm, consistency, and support within the household.
Who We're Looking ForThe ideal candidate for this role is someone who walks into a home, reads the room, and gets to work - without needing a daily text telling them what to do. You are the kind of person who notices the laundry is sitting in the dryer and switches it, sees that the Kroger list is building and places the order. You lead with warmth and reliability, and you take genuine pride in making a household run smoothly.
You are patient, calm, and confident with children, especially those with big personalities, high energy, or who may need extra support and guidance throughout their day. You remain steady under pressure, adapt easily when plans change, and strike the right balance between maintaining structure and embracing flexibility.
You are a natural problem-solver who takes initiative and looks for solutions before escalating challenges. Highly organized and proactive, you communicate clearly and efficiently, keeping schedules and household information updated through shared tools like Skylight rather than relying on constant back-and-forth communication. Most importantly, you take ownership of your role and bring a dependable, supportive presence that helps the entire family feel cared for, organized, and set up for success.
