Job description

Position Details:
Work under minimum supervision to ensure the efficient operation of the KC-Longview Adult Education and Literacy office and provide clerical services. Oversee confidential information and engage in frequent contact with a diverse student population. As part of the KC-Longview team, this position will work with all office departments as needed to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of all AEL functions and activitiesResponsibilities:
  • The Part-Time Education Staff will enter multiple forms of data, verify daily attendance, and conduct orientation.
  • This position will be responsible for answering telephone calls and emails while maintaining a polite, consistent professional communication etiquette
  • The Part-Time Education Staff will assist with the proctoring of most standardized exams
  • This position will be responsible for entering multiple forms of data and scheduling appointments.
  • Additional responsibilities include the dissemination of testing information to students, faculty, staff and prospective students.
  • Position will report to Kilgore and/or Longview campus to assist with duties listed above.
  • Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
  • A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is required; an associate degree or higher is preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills, keen attention to detail, and ability to work in a cordial, professional manner with diverse population groups with the necessary sensitivity to ensure student (s) privacy.
  • Experience and knowledge with computers and data entry.
  • Good verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be self-motivated and detail-oriented.
  • Must be organized, tactful, even-tempered, and able to maintain student confidentiality.
  • Ability to keep accurate records, including an accounting of cash drawer/safe, while working in a high-paced environment with frequent interruptions
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
  • No or very limited physical effort required; however, the employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
  • No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
  • Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals
  • Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting
  • Repetitive hand motions, frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching
Salary Range & Fringe Benefits:
  • The rate of pay is up to $20 per hour for up to 19 hours per week.

All full-time positions are located in Kilgore, TX. No fully work from home positions are available at this time. All employees must be available to physically present to work on the Kilgore, TX or Longview, TX Campus. Some Part-Time and Adjunct positions may be offsite but the candidate MUST live in the State of Texas.

Positions will remain open until filled. Some Adjunct and Part-Time teaching positions may remain open perpetually as the need for part time instructors fluctuates with student enrollment. Teaching positions will be required to submit official transcripts upon an offer of employment. An offer of employment will be contingent upon passing a background check.
