THE ROLE
SNHU Arena is seeking certified Bartenders to join our team on a part-time, event-based schedule in Manchester, NH. This flexible role is ideal for individuals with availability on evenings and weekends. Events include concerts, comedy shows, private functions, and sporting events. The ideal candidate will have strong bartending skills, excellent customer service experience, and cash-handling knowledge.
This is a part-time, event-based position scheduled based on the arena's event calendar.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide outstanding customer service by engaging with guests in a friendly, professional manner
  • Prepare and serve beverage items efficiently and accurately
  • Maintain safe, clean, and sanitary workstations at all times
  • Operate point-of-sale systems and handle transactions accurately
  • Follow established cash handling and inventory control procedures
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting to the cash control (Money Room) team
  • Coordinate with Concessions Supervisors, Cashiers, and Runners to maintain proper inventory levels and uninterrupted service
  • Adhere to all SNHU Arena policies and alcohol service regulations
  • Verify valid identification for all alcohol purchases
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area before, during, and after events
  • Perform other duties as assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
There are no supervisory responsibilities in this role.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty with energy and enthusiasm. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous customer service experience is preferred.
  • Experience working in event venues, arenas, or guest services is a plus.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences
  • Strong communication skills and ability to remain professional in fast-paced, high-pressure environments
  • Proficiency in preparing a variety of standard and specialty beverages
  • Solid cash handling and basic math skills with attention to accuracy and detail
  • Ability to operate point-of-sale (POS) systems efficiently
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Knowledge of responsible alcohol service practices and applicable laws
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow direction from supervisors
  • High level of reliability, punctuality, and professionalism
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift/move moderate weight as needed
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle customer concerns calmly and effectively

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
