Job description

Adecco Healthcare is working with our client Nampa, Idaho to hire a part-time Medical Coder for their medical office. This position is on-site/in-person.

Type: Temp - with possibility of Temp-to-Perm

Hours: Monday-Wednesday-Thursday 8a-5p (24-hours/week)

Pay Range: $20.50-$23.50+ DOE

Certification: Strongly prefer a Certified Coder - will consider candidates with strong coding experience

Responsibilities Include:

  • Processes claims, assessing progress notes for accuracy of electronic medical record generated codes and submits electronically.

  • Places appropriate modifiers to E&M and CPT codes to ensure payment and decrease denials.

  • Handles insurance denials in a timely manner.

  • Obtains patient estimates for procedures.

  • Handles patient questions regarding charges, services, and clinic policies pertaining to billing.

  • Maintains proficiency with all billing and coding rules and regulations.

  • Willing to be cross trained and assist in other duties such as scheduling.

  • Quarterly compliance audits

  • Complete webinars and education to stay up to date with current coding guidelines

Qualifications and Skills

  • HS Diploma or GED

  • CPC Certification preferred

  • Proven understanding of explanation of benefits form, claim form, and the insurance billing process.

  • Working knowledge of commercial insurance companies, Medicare, and Medicaid.

  • Proven understanding of CPT coding and ICD-10 coding.

  • Medical terminology

  • At least 2 years of coding/billing experience preferred

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills

  • Computer knowledge and typing skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Pay Details: $20.50 to $23.50 per hour
