About the Position

The Pacific Oaks College Master's in Social Work (MSW) Program invites applicants to apply for the online adjunct professors pool for the Spring, Summer and Fall semesters. Pacific Oaks College MSW students represent a wide range and diverse cross-section of the national population. Our non-traditional students work full-time, have families, and possess a variety of employment and life experiences. The program, having received full accreditation in 2024, is experiencing rapid enrollment growth and is seeking well-qualified, highly motivated, well-organized individuals with online teaching experience to teach courses in the online, asynchronous program.

MSW courses are fully built, and our adjuncts are not responsible for creating syllabi or curriculum.

Responsibilities

  • Teach and facilitate interactive, high-quality online courses within the Master's in Social Work (MSW) Program using the Canvas Learning Management System.
  • Maintain an active and supportive presence in the online classroom, including responding to student inquiries within 24-48 hours.
  • Provide timely, constructive feedback on assignments and submit grades in accordance with established deadlines.
  • Engage students through meaningful dialogue, reflective practices, and collaborative learning approaches that support academic success.
  • Identify students who may be at risk academically and refer them to appropriate institutional support services.
  • Collaborate with faculty colleagues to review, refine, and enhance course content in alignment with program goals and academic standards.
  • Complete required faculty onboarding, adjunct training modules, and participate in scheduled adjunct and all-faculty meetings.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Social Work from a CSWE-accredited institution is required.
  • A minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in social work practice is required, showcasing exemplary professional expertise.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach undergraduate courses in an online format using a Learning Management System (e.g., Canvas).
  • Strong communication skills and commitment to cultural responsiveness.
  • Experience working with diverse student populations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PhD in Social Work or a closely related field and/or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) credential is preferred.
  • Prior graduate-level teaching experience, particularly in online or hybrid environments.
  • Familiarity with Pacific Oaks pedagogy and integration of social responsibility in business education.
  • Proficiency in Canvas LMS, Microsoft Office Suite, and online teaching tools.
  • Proven track record of professional excellence in social work, with a commitment to ongoing professional development and learning.

Anticipated Salary
