IEM, Troy, NY – AR/AP Specialist (Part-Time)

International Electronic Machines Corporation (IEM) is an ISO 9001:2015-certified company focused on transportation safety and security solutions. With over 20 years of experience, IEM serves a diverse range of markets, including freight rail, transit, defense, and security. The company offers a full range of product services from research & development to post-installation service.

International Electronic Machines (IEM) is currently expanding its operations and has an IMMEDIATE OPENING for an AR/AP Specialist with a strong background in Bookkeeping/Accounting.

Role Description

This is a part-time, onsite AR/AP Specialist role at International Electronic Machines Corporation in Troy, NY, with the opportunity to transition to a full-time position as business grows. The Specialist will be responsible for entering invoices, managing Accounts Payable and Receivable, processing Purchase Requisitions, placing orders, processing spare parts orders, and entering and reconciling credit card transactions. Experience in QuickBooks is a must.

Qualifications

  • Minimum two years of experience in a small office environment
  • Strong bookkeeping/accounting background required
  • Minimum two years of experience with QuickBooks Desktop is a must
  • Prior A/R and A/P experience a must
  • Work with minimum supervision, be a self-starter, and perform quality control on his/her work.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access)
  • Experience with managing finance tasks
  • Associate's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Attention to detail and confidentiality required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic accounting principles understanding and applied knowledge
  • Highly organized and attentive to detail
  • Able to work with confidential and proprietary information
  • Good attitude with the ability to be self-motivated and work as part of a team

Desired Skills:

  • Prior experience with government contracts
  • BA in Accounting/Finance or related 2 or 4-year college degree -OR- Associate or comparable education with exceptional, strong, and demonstrated experience
  • Excellent record-keeping and documentation-keeping skills
  • Quick learner, highly motivated, self-starter, and eager to learn.

    Job Type: Part-Time 20-25 hrs/week

    Pay: $22-$28 per hour based on experience
