Job description

Tricon is an owner, operator and developer of single-family rental homes in the U.S. and multi-family apartments in Canada. Job Description

Tricon Residential is proud to partner with UC Investments and Blackstone to offer a part-time, 10-week internship through the University of California & Blackstone (UCBX) Academy - Real Estate. This internship provides students entering or currently enrolled in their sophomore or junior year at UC Irvine with hands-on exposure to the residential real estate industry.
The Intern, Real Estate, will gain insight into how housing strategies come to life across Development, Asset Management, Dispositions and Revenue Management. They are a part of a supportive cohort, will participate in professional development programming, and receive direct mentorship from Tricon leaders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following but are not limited to the job specifications contained herein. Additional duties or job functions that can be performed safely may be required as deemed necessary by supervisory personnel.

Department Exposure-

  • Development - Assist with development planning, financial analysis, and project delivery of new build-to-rent communities.

  • Dispositions- Learn how Tricon evaluates and dispositions homes nationwide.

  • Asset Management - Explore data and strategy used to manage portfolio performance, track KPIs, and guide pricing and investment decisions.

  • Revenue Management - Use data, market trends, and demand forecasting to optimize rental pricing and lease terms.


Professional Development:

  • Attend regular intern cohort meetings, workshops, and speaker sessions

  • Complete a final reflection or short presentation on your learning experience

  • Engage with leaders across Tricon, UC Investments, and Blackstone

Team & Program Participation:

  • Collaborate with fellow interns and contribute to a positive, inclusive team environment

  • Build relationships with mentors and participate in feedback and check-in sessions

  • Represent the program with professionalism and curiosity

Qualifications:

  • Available to work 8-12 hours/week onsite in Tustin, CA

  • Demonstrated interest in real estate, housing, finance, or community development

  • Reliable, eager to learn, and collaborative

  • No prior real estate experience required

Minimum Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled at UC Irvine and entering the Sophomore or Junior year

  • Must be in good academic standing

Preferred Attributes:

  • Availability to work Tuesday - Thursday
