What does a part time insurance appointment setter do?

A Part Time Insurance Appointment Setter works with insurance agencies or agents to contact potential clients and schedule appointments for insurance consultations or sales meetings. Their main responsibilities include making outbound calls, following up on leads, and maintaining appointment calendars. They often work flexible hours, focusing on generating interest and setting up meetings rather than selling insurance products directly. This role is important for helping insurance agents grow their client base and manage their schedules efficiently.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a part time insurance appointment setter, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Part Time Insurance Appointment Setter, you need strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a basic understanding of insurance products, often supported by a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with customer relationship management (CRM) software, phone systems, and scheduling tools is typically required. Persistence, active listening, and a positive attitude are standout soft skills that help build rapport with potential clients. These skills and qualities are essential for efficiently generating appointments, maintaining accurate records, and supporting the insurance sales process.

What are the typical challenges faced by part time insurance appointment setters, and how can they be managed?

Part time insurance appointment setters often face challenges such as reaching decision-makers during limited work hours, handling objections from potential clients, and maintaining motivation despite frequent rejections. To manage these challenges, it helps to develop strong communication and organizational skills, use effective call scripts, and track progress with a CRM system. Being proactive about scheduling calls during optimal times and seeking feedback from team members can also improve results and job satisfaction.

Appointment Setter - High-Ticket Sales

Job description

You book the call. Our closers run it. You earn 40% of every deal that closes.

That number is not a typo. Most agencies pay setters a small flat fee or 5-10%. We pay 40% because we only make money when you do. Our smallest service sells for $2,000 USD, which makes your smallest possible payout on a single closed deal $800.

Deep Sea Media is a Canadian digital marketing agency built on four generations of selling. Our family has been in advertising since 1919: flags, then radio, then television, and now every major social platform. Today we sell paid advertising, websites, AI audits, custom AI agents, business automation, and AI integration projects to real businesses.

What the work looks like: you call business owners, start real conversations, qualify them, and book them onto a call with our closing team. We provide the leads, drawn from Google Maps, business lists, social media, referrals, paid ads, and internal lead sheets. You can prospect in your native language and your own market, as long as the client can communicate with our team in English for the close and delivery.

Where it goes: setting is where you start, not where you stay. Setters who perform move up fast. First you close your own deals. Then you lead your own team of setters. Eventually we back you to run your own sales operation under our brand, without ever touching service fulfillment. How fast you climb is up to you.

Now the honest part. This is a commission-only contractor role. There is no base salary and no hourly wage. You will also never pay us a cent: no training fees, no lead fees, nothing, ever. Our full-time standard is 200 dials a day. Setters who hold that standard have consistently earned $3,000 USD or more per month. Setters who do not earn less, and some earn nothing. We would rather tell you this now than surprise you later.

If you can create conversations and follow up with discipline, or you are hungry enough to learn, we will train you. Apply and we will walk you through the full commission sheet during onboarding.

Requirements

Strong spoken English for handoffs to our closing team. You may prospect in your native language in your own market.

Comfortable opening cold phone conversations with business owners, or coachable enough to learn fast. No sales experience required. We can train skills. We cannot train discipline.

Able to sustain serious daily call volume. Full-time benchmark is 200 dials a day; part-time scales down.

Organized follow-up: every conversation tracked, no warm lead left behind.

Laptop or smartphone, a headset, and stable internet.

Professional conduct. You are the first voice of a company that has been selling since 1919.

Benefits

40% commission on every deal you set that closes, paid once per deal. Full commission sheet provided at onboarding.

Minimum $800 payout per closed deal, based on our lowest-priced service at $2,000 USD.

Qualified leads provided. You start calling, not list building.

100% remote. Work from anywhere in the world, in any timezone.

Flexible schedule, part-time or full-time.

Invoice monthly, get paid anywhere via Wise, Remitly, or international bank transfer.

Clear promotion path: Setter, then Closer, then Team Leader, then your own sales operation under the Deep Sea Media brand.

Training, scripts, and call reviews from the same team that closes your deals.
