Stantec is currently seeking an EIT Level Instrumentation and Controls Engineer for our Cleveland, OH office location.
Successful applicants will work with a multidiscipline group of engineers and designers providing technical services to public and private sector clients. Primary duties, as applicable to water and wastewater treatment facilities and pumping stations, will include the below listed activities.
  • Design activities including: - Support of control system engineering and automation designs within multi-disciplinary teams
  • Assist in the development of construction documents including: - Drawings produced using computer-aided engineering (CAE) production tools: - Database driven Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID's)
  • Detailed network communication architecture diagrams
  • Control panel details
  • CCTV and Access Control System drawings
  • Point-to-Point Wiring Diagrams
  • Instrument installation details
  • Technical specifications and summary control system schedules
  • Construction support activities including: - Assist in the review of contractor submittals
  • Support of equipment and control system inspections and pre-commissioning
  • Active participation in field data-gathering and equipment assessment assignments
  • Working in a manner to ensure personal safety and that of fellow employees by following company health and safety guidelines and policies.

Duties will be generally performed under the guidance of a senior level or higher I&C engineer.
Successful applicant will meet or exceed the following qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Chemical Engineering is required, MS preferred, with 0-3 years of experience in instrumentation and controls.
  • Successfully passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam or prepared to take the exam within one year of employment
  • Possess solid interpersonal skills for working in a team environment (virtual or in-person)
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Must demonstrate organizational skills and the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and take direction
  • Ability to work with disparately located project team members
  • Advanced knowledge of standard desktop software is required, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access; Adobe or Bluebeam pdf tools.
  • CAD experience - AutoCAD Plant 3D or Bentley OpenPlant - is preferred. Programming experience (Microprocessor, PLC, C++, SQL structures, etc.) is desirable

  • Must have good driving record and valid driver's license
  • Willing and able to travel. Occasional international travel may be required. - Office work: Typical office desktop workstation environment.
  • Field work: typically at sites with treatment equipment in active use and/or active construction activities. Exposure to the elements including inclement weather is probable.

Pay Range:
• Locations in MN, OH, VT, & Various CA, NY Areas-$67,800.00 - $94,900.00 Annually
Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
Benefits Summary: Regular full-time and part-time employees (working at least 20 hours per week) have access to medical, dental, and vision plans, a wellness program, health saving accounts, flexible spending accounts, 401(k) plan, employee stock purchase program, life and accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D) insurance, short-term/long-term disability plans, emergency travel benefits, tuition reimbursement, professional membership fee coverage and paid family leave. In addition, employees will be eligible to accrue vacation between 10 and 20 days per year and eligible for paid sick leave (and if more generous, in accordance with state and local law).
