Hospitalist Physician (MD/DO) – Contingent / Part-Time

McLaren Macomb Hospital – Mount Clemens, MI

Job Summary

Alliance Health Physicians is expanding its hospitalist program at McLaren Macomb Hospital and is seeking Contingent / Part-Time Hospitalist Physicians (MD/DO) to join our inpatient team. We are hiring for both day (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) and night (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) coverage with flexible scheduling based on physician availability.

This physician-centered, well-supported inpatient role is ideal for clinicians seeking supplemental income, moonlighting opportunities or a flexible schedule while focusing on high-quality hospital medicine without unnecessary administrative burden or high-acuity emergency response responsibilities.

Compensation starts at $125+/hour, with higher rates available based on experience and shift availability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive inpatient care for admitted hospitalist patients.
  • Manage new admissions during assigned shifts.
  • Collaborate closely with Emergency Department physicians on admissions and patient management.
  • Work alongside consulting specialists and multidisciplinary care teams.
  • Complete accurate and timely documentation within the EMR.
  • Provide clear handoffs to the incoming hospitalist at shift change.

Schedule & Setting

  • Contingent / Part-Time position
  • Flexible 12-hour day and night shifts
  • Inpatient hospital-based practice at McLaren Macomb Hospital

What This Role Does Not Require

  • No Rapid Response responsibilities
  • No Code Blue responsibilities
  • Procedural skills are a plus but not required

Qualifications

  • MD or DO
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine
  • Family Medicine physicians with hospitalist experience are encouraged to apply
  • Eligible for Michigan medical licensure
  • Ability to obtain medical staff privileges at McLaren Macomb Hospital
