What does an ILS Specialist do?ย ย 

The role of theย Program Specialistย working inย theย Independent Living Services (ILS)ย department is to guide people to greater independence in their homes and community through practical training and mentorship.ย ย 

You will work with adultsย one-on-oneย who have set goals to achieve, specializing your coaching and training to their individual needs.ย ย 

Specialized coaching could be in the following areas:ย ย 

  • Money management: staying on budget/creating budgetsย 

  • Outdoor activities: fishing, walking, going to the park, etc.ย ย 

  • Community/ social confidence: seeking new connections, attending community events, gaining self confidence in social environmentsย ย 

  • Cooking skills: food prep, cooking temperatures, cutting, chopping, food storage, kitchen safetyย ย 

  • Cleaning/ basic home maintenance: laundry, sweeping, mopping, dusting, moppingย ย 

  • Self-advocatingย skills: gaining confidence to use their voice based on their values and personal preferenceย 

  • Healthcare, first aid, medication pick upย 

  • Personal safety/ mobility skillsย ย 

  • Anyย additionalย personalized goalsย ย 

Flexible Schedule:ย Youโ€™llย be matched with 1-3 people toย supportย withย person-centered goals. Scheduled hours are Monday โ€“ Friday betweenย the hours of 8:30 am and 6:00 pm.ย 

Pay Rate:ย $18.25 per hourย ย 

Part-time:ย 14-29ย hours a week to start,ย potential for more in the future.ย ย 

Service locations:ย Chico and Paradiseย Californiaย ย

Requirements:ย 

  • At least 18 years of age.ย 

  • Ability to pass a background check through the Department of Justice (DOJ).ย 

  • Ability to pass a driving record check.ย 

  • Safe and reliable transportation with a valid driverโ€™s license and auto insurance.ย 

  • TB (Tuberculosis) Skin Test.ย 

Benefits:ย 

Mainsโ€™lย offers full benefits to full-time staff including paid time off, paid sick time (80 hoursย for the year), paid holidays, health, dental, life and vision insurance, 401k, paid funeral leave, parental leave, 2 weeks of paid jury leave, and education assistance (tuition reimbursement).ย ย

As a part-time staff, you will receive sick time (40 hoursย for the year), paid holidays,paid funeral leave, 2 weeks of paid jury leave, and education assistance (tuition reimbursement).ย 

Pay Scale:ย ย 

Starting rate: $18.25 per hourย 

Maximum Pay Rate: $19.25 per hour based on years of experience at Mains'l.ย ย
