Job Description Summary
The purpose of this position is to provide clerical and reception support to a department and for related department activities. This is accomplished by answering the phone and providing information, directing callers and visitors to activities and information, processing forms and correspondence. Other duties include entering information and maintaining records, mailing documents, and assisting with other general office activities.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED equivalency. Six months office/clerical related experience.
Required Job Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Demonstrated ability to problem solve by questioning, organizing, researching, analyzing, processing, and interpreting information. Ability to work independently and as a team member. Ability to handle multiple tasks and responsibilities. Ability to learn and adhere to the college policies and procedures.

Answers the phone, takes messages and refers callers as appropriate. Refers visitors to other departments and areas of the college. Maintains calendars, open and route mail/assist with mailings (stuff envelopes, mail/email schedules, receipts, and other information requested by students, faculty and staff), composes correspondence and maintains files of documents and related information. Promotes Recruitment & Outreach initiatives through outgoing calls to prospective & current students.
