Job description

About Us: Our organization is a leading provider of independent medical evaluations, committed to assisting United States Veterans throughout the VA's disability benefits process. We aim to offer comprehensive, unbiased, and empathetic medical assessments that facilitate timely and precise disability evaluations.

Position Overview: We are in search of a skilled and committed Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) Physician to perform medical evaluations for veterans. This position is solely focused on independent assessments and does not involve any treatment. Your responsibilities will include reviewing medical histories, conducting thorough evaluations, and completing VA-provided Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs) via a secure online platform. These evaluations will aid the VA in making accurate disability decisions.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Examine and interpret veterans' medical records through a secure web interface.
  • Conduct detailed, non-treating evaluations of veterans to document their current health status.
  • Fill out and submit DBQs using VA-specific templates to ensure all pertinent medical information is captured.
  • Guarantee that all DBQs are comprehensive, precise, and submitted within 24 hours following the assessment.
  • Evaluate up to four veterans each day.

Work Schedule: Part-Time, in-person. Travel required between McAllen, Laredo, and Corpus Christi.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Driven to conduct independent medical evaluations in a non-treating, investigative capacity.
  • Adept at analyzing and synthesizing information from extensive medical records and physical evaluations.
  • Effective time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines while maintaining a focus on quality.
  • Proficient in digital documentation and record analysis.
  • Committed to serving veterans and positively impacting their lives.

Qualifications:

  • Current MD or DO license with a focus on Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R).
  • Preferred board certification in Neurological Surgery, PM&R, or Psychiatry and Neurology; candidates with a completed two-year residency in a relevant specialty will also be considered.
  • Excellent typing skills and a keen attention to detail are crucial.

If you are a PM&R physician who prioritizes objective evaluations and is passionate about supporting veterans, we invite you to apply for this impactful position.
