Location: Byram, NJ

Shift: Saturday and Sunday 7am - 3pm


Pay Information
  • Base Rate: $17.16/hour

  • Weekend Rate: $18.16/hour


Job Overview

Advancing Opportunities, an affiliate of Apis Services, is currently seeking compassionate and dependable individuals to join our team as Part-Time Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) at our group home in Byram, NJ, supporting adults with disabilities.

As a DSP, you will play a vital role in helping individuals live safe, meaningful, and independent lives in a residential setting.

Responsibilities

Direct Support Professionals provide hands-on care, supervision, mentoring, and guidance to individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities. Responsibilities include assisting individuals with:

  • Daily living skills (cooking, housekeeping, hygiene)

  • Health and wellness (personal medical care, healthy living)

  • Community participation (shopping, recreation, outings)

  • Social and emotional development (coping skills, communication, friendships)

  • Budgeting and money management

  • Promoting independence, dignity, and autonomy

Your work will make a meaningful difference by helping individuals gain confidence and life skills.


Qualifications
  • Must be 20 years or older

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Valid driverโ€™s license

  • Ability to successfully complete:

    • State and Federal criminal background checks

    • Drug screening

    • Pre-employment physical and PPD

  • Willingness to complete all required orientation and pre-service training
