Full Job Description
SUMMARY: The overall responsibility of an Ice Cream Scooper/Crew Leader is to create an experience that encourages customers to come back.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Serve and satisfy customers
2. Prepare all Bruster’s products
3. General cleaning and maintenance
4. Report quality and quantity concerns to manager
5. Restock products/supplies as needed
6. Opening/Closing Procedures
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: A food service background is helpful, but  isnot required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Must possess verbal skills sufficient to communicate effectively with employees and customers.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Must possess math skills sufficient to make change for customers quickly and accurately.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES: The position of Ice Cream Scooper requires friendliness and a high energy level. Scoopers should be team players, who are mature and very neat in appearance. This position has constant customer contact.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to handle objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; sit, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and see, talk and hear. The employee may occasionally be required to taste or smell.
Employee must possess or develop both the manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination to scoop and portion all of our retail and wholesale products, most times without the aid of measuring devices, due to the volume of sales we may encounter.
Employee must be able to maneuver in a tight and sometimes congested working environment, both quickly and without creating a hazard.
Position requires occasional lifting up to 50 lbs. maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 lbs. Requires walking or standing to a significant degree.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to chemicals used in cleaning. Employee may also be exposed to extreme cold occasionally when entering the walk-in freezer (as allowed by law). The employee also frequently comes into contact with hot water while cleaning and sanitizing tools and containers, and the extreme heat of the waffle iron while baking waffle cones. The noise level in this work environment is usually moderate and occasionally loud.
OTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Employee will assist in maintaining an orderly, clean and safe work area; properly care for company property; and maintain proper conduct befitting a business environment.
