Position Summary

The Part-Time Human Resources Coordinator supports the Human Resources department by leading hourly recruiting efforts, coordinating new hire orientation, and assisting with payroll administration. This role serves as one of the first points of contact for new employees, helping create a welcoming onboarding experience while ensuring HR processes are completed accurately, timely, and in compliance with company policies and employment regulations.

This position works approximately 20-25 hours per week with flexibility based on business needs. Additional hours may be available during peak hiring periods.


Essential Functions:

  • Manage end-to-end recruitment processes, including job postings, candidate screening, interview scheduling, and offer preparation.
  • Maintain regular communication with candidates throughout the recruitment process.
  • Partner with hiring managers to support staffing needs and hiring timelines.
  • Attend job fairs, hiring events, community recruiting events, and other outreach opportunities.
  • Coordinate and conduct new hire orientations, ensuring a seamless onboarding experience.
  • Continuously improve the orientation experience to reflect Blue Plate’s culture and values.
  • Prepare onboarding materials and ensure timely completion of pre-employment requirements.
  • Maintain I-9 and E-Verify compliance.
  • Maintain recruitment metrics and provide regular reports on hiring activities.
  • Assist with bi-weekly payroll processing, reporting and documentation.
  • Review timecards and identify discrepancies for resolution.
  • Process payroll changes, direct deposit updates, and employee information changes.
  • Maintain confidentiality and integrity of payroll data.
  • Assist with HR reporting, audits, and compliance activities.
  • Respond to routine employee questions.
  • Develop and implement employee engagement programs and initiatives.
  • Organize company events, recognition programs, and wellness activities.
  • Gather feedback through surveys and focus groups to enhance employee satisfaction.
  • Maintain HR records ensuring compliance with all federal and state requirements. Conduct regular file audits.
  • Support compliance with labor laws and company policies.
  • Other HR related tasks as assigned by management
Requirements:

Education and Experience: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in HR operations, recruiting, and payroll administration (Hospitality experience preferred).
  • HRIS and payroll system experience (Paylocity preferred).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
