Salary Range: $26.30 - $29.54 hourly or per the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Position Level: 7
Working Hours and/or Working Conditions: HOURS: To be scheduled by the department as needed but not to exceed 20 hours per week. Position is expected to be active 42 weeks per year.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Competency in occupational therapy assistant core competency skills. Demonstrated ability to work independently, as well as part of a team. Must have good communication skills. Some heavy lifting may be required up to 50 pounds.
Supervision: SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Reports to the Associate Dean of Health & Human Services. Takes direction from the OTA faculty.SUPERVISION GIVEN: None
Job Function
Provide support for the full and part-time faculty in support of OTA curriculum activities and competencies.
Job Responsibilities
  • Assist faculty in lab courses with student clinical competency evaluation as needed.
  • Proctoring exams for faculty as needed.
  • Provide feedback to OTA faculty regarding student progress/lack of progress with skill competencies.
  • Provide students with opportunities for remedial learning for achieving basic OTA competencies.
  • Assist faculty in ensuring accreditation standards are met.
  • Provide open lab hours in the OTA lab for student use
  • Prepare equipment for instruction before and help organize after each class session.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education
Must be a graduate of an accredited occupational therapy or occupational therapy assistant program and hold a current NBCOT certification and state licensure/registration. Clinical experience required.
Part-time employees are eligible for some Macomb Community College benefits including retirement with the Michigan Office of Retirement Services, as well as voluntary options for retirement. Part-time employees are also eligible for accrual of PTO and tuition waivers.
