Job description

Overview
The Imaging of Brain Health Lab (IBH) is seeking a part-time (0.5 FTE) TES Research Associate to support neuroimaging data management and computational workflows related to brain health across the lifespan. This is a one-year, part-time appointment, with the possibility of renewal contingent upon satisfactory performance and continued availability of funding. This functions of this position could be performed remotely if needed.
Temporary Employment Services (TES), a unit of the Auburn University Department of Human Resources, is an in-house support center established to meet the temporary employment needs of the university. TES provides qualified and dedicated temporary employees in a wide variety of occupations to meet the staffing needs throughout the campus. Temporary employees are hired for a variety of reasons with the most common being:
  • Assistance in the place of a regular employee who is absent for a specified period of time
  • Additional assistance during periods of abnormal or peak workloads
  • Assistance with special projects
  • Seasonal work
  • Emergencies

Responsibilities
  • Download, organize, and maintain large neuroimaging datasets (e.g., HCP-D, ABCD), following established data standards.
  • Assist the PI in configuring and using the UKB-RAP analysis environment for research purposes.
  • Support the development and execution of neuroimaging data processing workflows on high-performance computing (HPC) systems.
  • Document and maintain reproducible computational pipelines and analysis workflows.
  • Assist with IRB and Data Use Agreement (DUA) documentation and support controlled access to research datasets in accordance with institutional and DUA requirements.

Qualifications
Masters degree in engineering, computer science, informatics, data Science, or a related field.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Basic understanding of neuroimaging data structures and standards (e.g., BIDS or equivalent).
  • Proficiency in Python, Bash, and Matlab.
  • Familiarity with neuroimaging software (e.g., FSL, FreeSurfer, HCP Workbench) and statistical tools (e.g., R) preferred.
  • Ability to develop and maintain documentation for computational workflows and pipelines.
