POSITION SUMMARY:

The Part-Time Housekeeping Technician is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and organized environment throughout the facility. This role supports daily operations by performing routine cleaning tasks including dusting, vacuuming, trash removal, restroom sanitation, and general housekeeping of office, common, and designated manufacturing areas. The position ensures that company cleanliness and safety standards are consistently maintained and that workspaces remain presentable for employees and visitors.

JOB DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Perform routine cleaning and housekeeping duties throughout the facility, including offices, hallways, conference rooms, break rooms, restrooms, and other common areas.
  • Dust furniture, desks, shelves, equipment surfaces, windowsills, and other surfaces to maintain a clean and professional work environment.
  • Vacuum carpets, rugs, and entry mats regularly to remove dirt, debris, and dust.
  • Sweep and mop hard surface floors to maintain cleanliness and prevent buildup of dirt or residue.
  • Clean and sanitize restrooms, including sinks, toilets, mirrors, countertops, partitions, and floors.
  • Replenish restroom supplies such as toilet paper, paper towels, soap, and other hygiene products as needed.
  • Empty trash and recycling bins throughout the facility and properly dispose of waste in designated collection areas.
  • Maintain cleanliness of breakrooms and kitchen areas, including wiping surfaces, cleaning tables, and ensuring appliances and counters remain tidy.
  • Spot clean walls, doors, glass, and other surfaces as needed to maintain a neat appearance.
  • Maintain assigned cleaning schedules and complete daily, weekly, and periodic cleaning tasks as directed by the supervisor.
  • Use appropriate cleaning products, disinfectants, and equipment to maintain sanitary conditions throughout the building.
  • Place safety signage (such as wet floor signs) when performing cleaning tasks to ensure employee safety.
  • Notify the supervisor of maintenance issues, facility damage, or repair needs observed during routine cleaning activities.
  • Follow all safety procedures when handling cleaning chemicals, equipment, and waste materials.
  • Maintain an organized supply area and notify supervisors when cleaning supplies or materials need to be replenished.
  • Assist with occasional deep cleaning tasks such as windows, baseboards, and high-traffic areas as directed.
  • Maintain cleaning logs or checklists for assigned areas to ensure consistent cleaning standards are met.
  • Work cooperatively with facility staff and other employees to maintain a safe and clean working environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and SKILLS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Prior housekeeping, janitorial, or facilities cleaning experience preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work independently and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining cleanliness standards.
  • Ability to safely use cleaning chemicals, supplies, and basic cleaning equipment (vacuum, mop, etc.).
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move cleaning supplies and equipment as needed.
  • Reliable and dependable with strong work ethic.

This position requires an employment agreement.

This position does not require personal protective equipment unless on the shop floor where Safety Glasses are required by all.
