Westview Manor of Peabody is a skilled nursing facility committed to providing compassionate, resident-centered care in a supportive environment. We are seeking a detail-oriented Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with MDS experience to join our clinical leadership team as a Part-Time MDS Coordinator.

This is an excellent opportunity for a nurse who enjoys working independently while collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to ensure quality resident care, regulatory compliance, and accurate reimbursement. Westview Manor is a nursing facility located in Peabody, Kansas.

Position Summary

The MDS Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and completing resident assessments, developing individualized care plans, and ensuring timely, accurate MDS submissions in accordance with CMS and state regulations. This position works closely with nursing staff, therapy, social services, dietary, and providers to support quality outcomes and regulatory compliance.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Complete and submit all required MDS assessments accurately and within regulatory timeframes.
  • Coordinate the Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) process.
  • Develop, review, and update individualized resident care plans.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary care plan meetings.
  • Review clinical documentation to ensure accuracy and support reimbursement.
  • Monitor Quality Measures (QMs) and assist with quality improvement initiatives.
  • Prepare documentation for state surveys and regulatory audits.
  • Collaborate with physicians, therapy, dietary, social services, and nursing staff.
  • Provide education and guidance to nursing staff regarding documentation and MDS requirements.
  • Assist the Director of Nursing and Administrator with clinical quality initiatives.
  • Maintain compliance with CMS, KDADS, and facility policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Required

  • Current Kansas RN or LPN license in good standing.
  • Previous MDS experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting.
  • Working knowledge of the RAI process and Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement.
  • Excellent assessment and clinical documentation skills.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and time-management abilities.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple deadlines.
