Job description

Position Overview

We are looking for compassionate and dedicated RNs/LPNs to provide exceptional hospice care during extended weekend hours. This position is ideal for a nurse who is passionate about supporting patients and families and helping them navigate the end-of-life journey with comfort, dignity, and compassion.

Schedule & Service Area
  • Part-time weekend position
  • Saturday and Sunday
  • 6:00 AM–6:00 PM
  • Driving position serving patients throughout Columbus
  • Must be comfortable driving in varying weather and road conditions
  • Weekend availability is required
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized nursing care using the nursing process, including assessment, care planning, interventions, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Assess patient needs and respond appropriately to changes in condition.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, caregivers, and interdisciplinary team members.
  • Provide compassionate care focused on comfort, dignity, and quality of life.
  • Maintain professional nursing standards and follow hospice care practices.
  • Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support patient and family needs.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Active Ohio RN or LPN license in good standing with no current board actions.
  • BSN preferred for RN candidates.
  • Two years of acute-care nursing experience preferred.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Hospice and Palliative Care certification (CHPN) preferred. Certification opportunities and support are available to Ohio's Hospice employees.
  • Computer skills sufficient to accurately document patient care and services.
  • Valid driver's license with a safe driving record.
  • Ability to maintain the state's minimum required automobile insurance coverage.
  • Ability to drive during daytime hours and in inclement weather.
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check.
  • Successful completion of a 10-panel drug screening.
