What is a part time home health OASIS reviewer?

A Part Time Home Health OASIS Reviewer is a healthcare professional responsible for reviewing and ensuring the accuracy and completeness of OASIS (Outcome and Assessment Information Set) assessments completed by home health clinicians. This role typically involves working remotely or on a flexible schedule to audit patient documentation, verify compliance with regulatory requirements, and support quality improvement efforts. The reviewer helps agencies maintain proper documentation for Medicare and other payers, ensuring accurate patient care plans and reimbursement.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a part time home health OASIS reviewer?

To thrive as a Part Time Home Health OASIS Reviewer, you need in-depth knowledge of OASIS assessment processes, home health regulations, and a current RN license or relevant clinical background. Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems and specialized OASIS review software is typically required, along with possible certifications such as COS-C (Certificate for OASIS Specialist-Clinical). Attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and effective communication are critical soft skills for accurate documentation and collaboration with clinical teams. These skills and qualifications are vital to ensure regulatory compliance, accurate patient assessment, and optimal reimbursement for home health agencies.

What are some common challenges faced by part time home health OASIS reviewers, and how can they be managed?

Part Time Home Health OASIS Reviewers often encounter challenges such as navigating frequent regulatory updates, ensuring documentation accuracy, and balancing productivity with quality. Weekend Start of Care RN | Home Health & OASIS

Job description

Job Title: Weekend Home Health RNStart of Care Admissions
Company: Home Health Care, Inc.
Location: Twin Cities Metro Area
Schedule: Weekends Only
Compensation: $200 per Start of Care Visit + Mileage Reimbursement
Your Weekend Nursing Skills Are Worth More
If you're an experienced home health nurse, you already have a specialized skill set that not every RN can step in and perform.
You know how to walk into a new patient's home, complete a thorough assessment, navigate OASIS, identify immediate concerns, educate a family, coordinate services, and establish the plan that guides everything that happens next.
Home Health Care, Inc. is looking for experienced RNs who can bring those skills to our weekend admissions team. In return, we're offering $200 for every Start of Care visit plus mileage reimbursement.
Whether you're looking to supplement your current income, pick up additional nursing work on your terms, or simply prefer admissions over managing an ongoing caseload, this could be an excellent fit.
To Stand Out
Email Elena Ehrlich at elena.ehrlich@hhcare.net with your resume and tell us about your home health, OASIS, and Start of Care experience.
One Weekend. Meaningful Earning Potential.
This isn't a traditional hourly nursing shift.
Your compensation is tied directly to the specialized work you're completing:
$200 per Start of Care admission.
Mileage reimbursement for eligible travel.
Weekend-only scheduling.
No weekday commitment.
No ongoing case management caseload.
For an efficient, experienced home health RN, the opportunity to complete multiple admissions can make your weekend availability financially worthwhile.
Come In. Assess. Establish The Plan. Make An Impact.
You'll specialize in one of the most important moments in a patient's home health experience: the beginning.
Your job is to understand the complete clinical picture and make sure the patient starts care on the right path.
You'll evaluate their condition, medications, safety, support system, functional needs, and overall home environment. You'll determine what needs immediate attention and coordinate with the interdisciplinary team to make sure the appropriate services are put into place.
Then you'll move on to your next admission.
What You'll Be Responsible For
  • Complete Start of Care admissions for new home health patients.
  • Perform comprehensive skilled nursing assessments.
  • Complete accurate and timely OASIS documentation.
  • Review medications, diagnoses, safety concerns, and disease-management needs.
  • Establish individualized plans of care.
  • Educate patients and caregivers on their care at home.
  • Identify additional nursing, therapy, social work, or other service needs.
  • Coordinate with physicians and interdisciplinary clinicians.
  • Maintain accurate and compliant electronic documentation.

This Role Is Designed For An Experienced Home Health Nurse
We're specifically looking for someone who understands the complexities of home health admissions and can confidently step into a patient's home and take ownership of the assessment.
Required Qualifications
  • Active Minnesota RN license.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Home health nursing experience required.
  • OASIS experience required.
  • Start of Care or admission experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong clinical assessment and documentation abilities.
  • Confidence making independent clinical decisions in the field.
  • Valid driver's license, active insurance, and reliable transportation.

Keep Your Weekday Job. Build Something Different On The Weekend.
You don't necessarily need to make a career change to take advantage of your home health experience.
If you already work Monday through Friday, this can be an opportunity to add meaningful income without taking on another traditional position. If you're working part-time elsewhere, it can help you build additional earnings around your existing schedule.
And if you're already in home health, you can focus on the piece of the job where your experience carries tremendous value: getting patients admitted correctly and safely from day one.
Why Home Health Care, Inc.?
For more than 30 years, Home Health Care, Inc. has provided Medicare-certified home health services to patients throughout Minnesota. You'll have the independence expected of an experienced field nurse with the support of an established clinical and interdisciplinary team behind you.
Military medical experience is highly valued. We proudly welcome Veterans, Reservists, National Guard Members, and Active Duty Military Personnel to apply.
Applicable military codes include Army 66H, 66N, 66R; Navy 290X, 1960; Air Force 46AX, 46FX; Marines MED; and Coast Guard HS.
