Description

The New York City Carpenters Training Center is seeking a knowledgeable and experienced individual to join our team as a Part-Time Health and Safety Instructor. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality training on health and safety practices to carpenters.


Job Responsibilities: 

Develop and deliver training programs on health and safety practices in the construction industry, specifically tailored to the needs of carpenters.

Create lesson plans, presentations, and instructional materials to effectively convey key information and engage participants.

Facilitate classroom and hands-on training sessions, ensuring a dynamic and interactive learning environment.

Conduct assessments and evaluations to measure the effectiveness of training programs and identify areas for improvement.

Stay updated on industry regulations and best practices related to health and safety and incorporate this knowledge into training materials and curriculum.

Collaborate with the Training Center team to continuously improve the training program and meet the evolving needs of carpenters.

Provide guidance and support to participants, addressing any questions or concerns related to health and safety practices.

Requirements

Must be a member in Good Standing with The New York City District Council of Carpenters.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in the construction industry, with a focus on health and safety.

Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices in the construction industry.

Experience in delivering training programs or instructional sessions to adult learners.

Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex information to diverse audiences.

Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

Proficiency in using computer software, including MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and training management systems.

   Relevant certifications, such as OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Certification, are highly desirable.
