Job description

SUMMARY: To provide students with a safe, attractive, comfortable and clean place in which to learn, play and develop.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
1. Assists in keeping school grounds, including sidewalks, steps, driveways, and play areas neat and clean at all times.
2. Performs such yard keeping chores as grass cutting, trimming,, and the like, as necessary, to maintain the school grounds in a safe and attractive condition.
3. Reports immediately to the principal or his designee any damage to school property.
4. Conducts an ongoing program of general maintenance, upkeep, and repair of school equipment including mowers, trimmers, weed eaters.
5. Performs such other tasks and assumes other responsibilities as the principal or his designee may from time to time assign.
6. Other duties may be assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to three months related experience and/or training.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
