Join Our Team as a Part Time Grants Writer!

Are you passionate about supporting the nonprofit community and making a real difference in their lives? EAC Network, a leading not for profit social service agency dedicated to helping over 80,000 people through 100 impactful programs across Long Island and NYC, is looking for a dedicated part time Grants Writer to join our External Affairs Department!

  • Wage: $32-36/hour
  • Schedule: up to 20 hours per week
  • Location: Remote

What are the key responsibilities:

The Part-Time Grants Writer is responsible for researching, developing, writing, and submitting grant proposals to secure funding from government agencies, foundations, and corporate sources. This role focuses on maintaining a consistent and organized grant pipeline, ensuring all submissions and reports are completed accurately and on time.

This is a part-time role designed to deliver reliable grant revenue through disciplined execution, strong writing, and effective coordination with internal program staff.

 

What drives the core purpose of this job:

1. Grant Writing & Submission
  • Proactively research and identify new grant opportunities from government, foundation and corporate sources aligned with organizational priorities.
  • Write clear, compelling, and competitive grant proposals.
  • Prepare and submit all required application materials in advance of deadlines.

2. Grant Pipeline Management
  • Maintain and manage a comprehensive grant calendar, including deadlines, renewals, and reporting requirements.
  • Track all submissions, outcomes, and funding decisions.
  • Ensure no deadlines are missed.
 

3. Collaboration & Content Development

  • Work with program staff, including the Special Projects Manager, to identify program fit for funding opportunities.
  • Work with program staff to gather data, outcomes, budgets, and narratives for proposals.
  • Translate program impact into strong, fundable proposals.
  • Coordinate with leadership to ensure alignment with funding strategy.

4. Reporting & Compliance

  • Prepare and submit grant reports in accordance with funder requirements.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of all grant-related activities.
  • Ensure compliance with all funding guidelines and expectations.
 

What key knowledge, skills, and abilities are required to excel in this role: 

  • Minimum 2–4 years of grant writing experience in a nonprofit setting.
  • Demonstrated success in securing grant funding.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and maintain accountability in a part-time structure.
  • Experience collaborating with program staff to gather content and data.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and grant research tools (e.g., Instrumental or similar).
  • Familiarity with nonprofit funding environments in New York Preferred.
  • Ability to manage sensitive information with discretion.
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through.
