Job description

POSITION PURPOSE:

Set up of Catering Events & Banquet rooms; serve food and beverages in a friendly, courteous and professional manner according to Trump National Doral - Miami ’s high standards of service.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:

  • Lift, push and pull Banquet equipment to the assigned work area
  • Polish and clean all necessary service items
  • Greeting guests immediately in a sincerely warm, friendly manner
  • Provide prompt, courteous and efficient food and beverage service
  • Effectively handle guest concerns and advise the Captain/Banquet Manager of any deficiencies
  • Perform all assigned side work tasks regularly to the satisfaction of the Captain

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Set up banquet room as instructed by Banquet Leader to include linen, service-ware and glassware.

  • Attend roll call meetings before events to learn function particulars, including guest and resort expectations.
  • Greet guests and respond to requests in a friendly and courteous manner.
  • Serve food and beverages in the order and to the expectation of the Banquet Leader to ensure consistency throughout the banquet. Promptly bus dishes as guests complete each course and/or meal at the end of the meal and function.
  • Replenish beverages as necessary, and check with guests for overall satisfaction.
  • Once banquet is complete, reset banquet room according to Captain's specifications to ensure the readiness of the room for the following function.

Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, associates may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the resort.

Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by Doral Golf Resort & Spa from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Associates with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.

Due to the industry that we are in, a need will occur for each associate to provide “Lateral Service”. Our goal is to ensure that we are maximizing customer satisfaction and as result there will be times when our associates in Operations will call upon us for support in order to ensure customer satisfaction occurs. When we are fortunate enough for this to occur, each associate will positively respond unless there is a chance that an opportunity resulting in dissatisfying a guest could occur. If this is the case the leader is to be notified and the level of support that is being requested will be obtained.

SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS:

In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the resort.

  • Perform all assigned side work to include replenishing condiments and restocking banquet shelves with supplies.
  • Perform general cleaning tasks using standard resort cleaning products, as assigned to adhere to health standards.
  • Abide by all State, Federal and Corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests.

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY:

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.

• Must have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparations, service standards, guest relations and etiquette.

  • Knowledge of the appropriate table settings and service ware.
  • Ability to comprehend and apply written product labeling instructions to enable the safe application of products and processes within the resort.
  • Ability to remember, recite and promote the variety of menu items.
  • Ability to accurately describe all menu items, including ingredients on the BEO
  • Ability to transport up to 50lbs. through a crowded room on a continuous basis throughout the shift.
  • Ability to operate beverage equipment, eg., coffee maker, iced tea machine, espresso machine.

Licenses or certificates:

ServSafe Food Handlers Certification required. Alcohol Compliance Responsible Vendors Certificate required. CPR Certification and/or First Aid Training preferred.

Grooming:

All associates must maintain a neat, clean and well groomed appearance (specific standards available).
