Established in 1928, the West Shore Country Club was envisioned as a place where friends could gather for social and recreational activities. Over the years, as membership grew, our original vision has remained true. Located on 164 rolling acres in the heart of South Central Pennsylvania, our club offers the finest in golf, tennis, swimming, dining and social activities for your leisure times. Our variety of banquet settings can accommodate parties from a small business meeting to a grand wedding celebration. Our beautiful clubhouse and impeccably groomed grounds add to the aura of quiet sophistication that is the West Shore Country Club.
Job Summary
We are currently seeking full time and part time seasonal groundskeepers for the 2024 season (approximately April - October). Our groundkeepers work meticulously to keep the golf course in impeccable condition year-round. The seasonal groundskeepers assist the year-round grounds staff with maintaining the course's playable conditions during the peak golf season. The seasonal groundskeepers report directly to the Assistant Superintendent and Superintendent. The seasonal groundskeeper position is classified as hourly, non-exempt.
Wage Range: $15.50 - $18/hr. depending on golf course maintenance experience.
Experience preferred but not necessary.
  • Full-Time: 35+ hours/ Weekly; OT after 40 hours
  • Part-Time: 15-30 hours/ Weekly
  • Typical shift start time is 5:30am
  • Must have the ability to work up to 6 days per week during the golfing season (including weekends and holidays)

Groundskeeper duties may include:
  • Daily maintenance of all sand bunkers including weeding and raking.
  • Assisting in the divot filling of fairways, tees, and other golf course surfaces
  • Mowing clubhouse/pool lawns and immediate bunkers surrounds using a walking rotary mowers
  • Maintaining creek banks and bunker edges using a weed whacker
  • Removing debris from areas of the property on an as needed basis using backpack blowers and rakes.
  • Weekly maintenance of clubhouse/pool landscape and surrounding areas are well maintained by properly watering and weeding areas as needed.
  • Daily maintenance of all putting green surfaces such as walk mowing and rolling.
  • Mowing rough areas with ride-on rotary mowers
  • Scouting playing surfaces for localized dry spots and hand water as necessary
  • Applying products to maintain turf quality such as fertilizer
  • Setting up the golf course for daily play including pin and tee marker locations, trash removal and traffic control
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Adhering to all safety aspects and precautions of each individual job while utilizing any and all available protection such as eye and ear protection when necessary

Requirements
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Must be willing to work outdoors in all types of weather
  • Must be physically capable of performing manual labor tasks and lifting 50lbs +
  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for duration of shift
  • Dependability and punctuality, along with reliable personal transportation are required for this position.
