Job Summary:
This posting is for a pooled position. Application submissions for "[POOL]" positions are accepted on an ongoing basis to ensure a continuous and ready pool of qualified candidates for immediate review when the need arises. If/when a position becomes available, the College will review applications from this pool, and interview candidates whose qualifications best match the specific opening.
Applicants must reapply to the pool annually to maintain their active status in the pool.
This pool has been established to accept applications for possible part-time teaching positions throughout the year. Provides teaching and learning support in core Physical Education classes that may include but not limited to weight training, basketball, dance, yoga, soccer, golf, cardio kickboxing, karate, ultimate frisbee and Physical Education lecture classes.
Essential Duties:
  1. Promote excellence in instruction through innovative instructional methods in the Health and Human Performance Program.
  2. Identify and meet the needs for student learning. Promote student learning and skills attainment. Work within the guiding principles of outcomes based learning.
  3. Deliver teaching to students, assess student learning. Grade papers on time, turn in grades on time.
  4. Monitor students for effective and safe execution of exercise movements. Ensure that a safe, respectable classroom environment is achieved.
  5. Work within the philosophy and mission of the college as an educator.
  6. May occasionally advise Health and Human Performance students and facilitate in their learning.
  7. Perform assigned teaching and advising roles, to include promoting the program and student retention.
  8. Actively engage in communication and collaboration within the Health and Human Performance Department.
  9. Work on a planned schedule of professional development to maintain current knowledge and practice.
  10. Assist in departmental learning activities as assigned.

Salary and Compensation Information:
Courses are paid on a per-credit basis. New Part-time Faculty begin at Step 1 of the payscale, with steps being "rolled" once per term, if eligible.

    • Table 1 illustrates the cost per credit for each step on the pay scale. Instructors new to the College typically start at the rate listed in column 1.
    • Table 3 illustrates the compensation per hour for meetings, training, advising, curriculum development, or other related work.
