Division/Department: Amenities / Golf Club House
Status: Part time – Regular (year-round)
Pay: $12.75 per hour plus tips
Reports to: Head Golf Professional

Job Summary:
The Jekyll Island Authority is seeking part-time Beverage Cart amp; Concession Guest Services for Travis Turn on Great Dunes golf course. Under general supervision, the Beverage Cart amp; Concession Guest Services attendant provides exceptional service that enhances the guest experience to include greeting and providing food and beverage service to our golf guests. Enters orders into system and settles checks upon completion of order. Maintains proper setup for Beverage cart on continuous basis. Performs opening and closing procedures including cleaning equipment, restocking food and beverage, etc.
Description:
  • Greets guests, communicates concession offerings, answers questions, provides friendly customer service in the Travis Turnhouse and on-course.
  • Serves food and beverage items in correct proportions, follows sanitation guidelines.
  • Observes golf etiquette when approaching golfers.
  • Operates point-of-sale system to properly record all transactions.
  • Responsible for cash handling, collects money for food and beverage items; processes credit card or determines correct change for guests.
  • Safely secures all products in the Turnhouse and on the beverage cart including cash bank, keys, merchandise, etc.
  • Ensures beverage cart is operating properly, notes and reports any malfunctions, repairs or issues.
  • Ensures that required inventory controls are used consistently.
  • Maintains cleanliness, neat appearance and sanitation of equipment and beverage cart.
  • Assures the efficient and timely submission of all required reports and daily wrap-up reports.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Previous food and beverage experience is preferred.
  • Must have neat appearance and friendly, outgoing personality.
  • Ability to deliver high level of customer service required.
  • ServSafe knowledge required.
  • Alcohol awareness course/certificate within 30 days of hire.
  • Experience driving a golf cart is a plus.
  • Must be available for flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
Licenses / Background Checks:
  • A valid driver’s license is required for tasks that involve travel between JIA-operated locations while on duty, whether using a state-issued or personal vehicle. All drivers must comply with Georgia state laws.
  • Employment is contingent upon successfully passing a criminal background check.
  • Credit check required for all positions assigned to handle cash transactions.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
  • Exert up to 35 pounds of force occasionally and a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
  • More than 50% of the typical workday will be spent walking, sitting, standing, reaching, grasping and using repetitive motions of wrist, hands and fingers.
  • Between 25% and 50% of the typical workday will be spent pushing, pulling, lifting and carrying.
  • Less than 25% of the day is spent climbing stairs, crouching and/or stooping, kneeling.
  • Must have visual clarity to prepare and analyze data and figures, transcribing, use of computers and expansive reading.
  • Sensory abilities required include vision, feeling and touching with more than 50% of the day spent talking and hearing.
  • Majority of work will be performed in an outdoor environment. Typically work is subject to adverse environmental conditions such as sun, high heat and humidity conditions as well as occasionally wind and rain.
  • Noise level is considered normal.
