What are part-time German Shepherds?

The term 'part-time German Shepherds' does not refer to a recognized job or role. It may be a misunderstanding or a misphrasing, as German Shepherds are a breed of dog, not a type of employment. If you are looking for information on part-time jobs related to caring for or working with German Shepherds, such as dog walking, training, or pet sitting, those are roles performed by people, not the dogs themselves. We are a warm, welcoming couple who deeply value family, connection, and creating a peaceful home environment. While our children are now grown, having everyone back together during visits, holidays, and school breaks is incredibly important to us, and our home continues to be a central gathering place for loved ones.
Health, organization, and taking exceptional care of our home and belongings are priorities in our daily life. Our space reflects a calm, minimalist aesthetic and an intentional approach to living. Life in our home is thoughtful, well cared for, and grounded in routines and systems that help everything run smoothly.
Our household also centers around a beloved German Shepherd, meaningful work, and creative passion projects.
Who You Are / What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who is calm, capable, trustworthy, and genuinely enjoys helping a household run smoothly behind the scenes. You're highly organized, proactive, detail-oriented, and take ownership of your work with consistency and care. You bring a grounded, professional presence to the home and are comfortable working independently while collaborating closely with the family.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety throughout the day - from morning dog walks and household organization to errands, vendor coordination, light meal prep, and administrative support. You naturally notice what needs attention, take initiative, and help create more ease, structure, and operational flow within the home.
You're emotionally intelligent, able to read the room well, and know how to balance warmth with professionalism and discretion. You communicate clearly, respect boundaries, and thrive in a fast-moving, organized, Type A household environment. A calm, thoughtful, low-drama presence is important for this role.
An active lifestyle, positive attitude, and genuine enjoyment of helping others are highly valued. You should feel comfortable walking our dog for extended daily walks and supporting a household that values efficiency, accountability, organization, and care.
Most importantly, we're looking for someone who wants to become a trusted, long-term extension of the household and takes pride in supporting a busy family with consistency and excellence.
Key Qualities Include
  • Proactive, intuitive, and eager to learn the family's preferences and routines over time
  • Highly organized with strong follow-through and attention to detail

  • Active, healthy, and comfortable handling long daily walks with a German Shepherd
  • Discreet, trustworthy, and professional with strong personal accountability
  • Able to move efficiently while maintaining thoughtfulness and care
  • High EQ with the ability to read the room and adapt appropriately
  • Self-starter mindset with a collaborative, coachable attitude
  • Calm, grounded communicator who respects a quiet and organized home environment
  • Loves dogs and genuinely enjoys supporting both people and home life
Key Responsibilities
Household Management

  • Support and ensure seasonal property maintenance for both SF and Tahoe homes
  • Research/coordinate repairs and source quotes
