Job description

We are looking for a Registered Respiratory Therapist to join our collaborative team at Memorial Health!
What You'll Do:
Performs routine respiratory, cardiac and neurology procedures according to department policy and procedures (e.g., routine oxygen and aerosol therapy, mechanical ventilation, screening PFTs, EKGs, holter monitor application and scanning, capnography, percutaneous arterial blood gas sampling, etc). Performs advanced respiratory, cardiac, and neurology procedures according to department policy and procedures (e.g., neonatal and adult intubation, assists with bronchoscopies, arterial sampling from arterial lines, complete pulmonary function testing and pulmonary stress test procedures). Responds to in-house and outpatient emergencies in all areas of the hospital and provides the appropriate supportive measures. Inspects, cleans, and tests therapeutic and diagnostic equipment to ensure proper operation and function; performs calibration of diagnostic equipment when applicable. Performs bedside assessment and provides input to physicians and other disciplines to improve the quality and effectiveness of cardiopulmonary care. Develops and provides department/hospital in-services for visiting students, peers and other hospital staff members. Schedules patients for a variety of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Responds to emergencies outside normal working hours. Exhibits behaviors reflective of Memorial's core values: Compassion, Accountability, Respect, Excellence, and Service. Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance. Attends all mandatory education and in-services (i.e., team training, safety, infection control, etc.); completes mandatory health requirements. Employee performs within the prescribed limits of the hospital's and department's Ethics and Compliance program and is responsible to detect, observe and report compliance variances to their immediate supervisor, or upward through the chain of command, the Compliance Officer, or the hospital hotline.
Requirements
Completion of training from an accredited respiratory therapy program. Current Ohio license to practice respiratory therapy; registration in respiratory therapy as determined by successful completion of the National Board for Respiratory Care written registry and clinical simulation exam; satisfactory completion of American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), (AHA) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) for Healthcare Providers required upon employment; PALS recommended, but not required.
