Job description

The Simulation Center Technician is responsible for providing support to the students, faculty, and staff during simulation in the School of Nursing Simulation Center.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
1. Work directly with the Undergraduate Simulation Center Coordinator to support simulation learning environment for the undergraduate residential and cohort students, faculty and staff participating in simulation.
2. Assist the Undergraduate Simulation Center Coordinator with daily operations, maintenance, and set up/cleanup of equipment/simulation scenarios for the undergraduate and cohort nursing simulation labs.
3. Organize supplies and equipment for use in simulation session and assist in the set up and transition of simulation scenarios.
4. Operate and maintain B-Line audio-video recording systems consisting of multiple cameras, microphones, and audio/video.
5. Maintain and develop lab documentation, equipment testing, and inventory, and other tasks related to lab support for simulation experiences.
6. Assist the Undergraduate Simulation Center Coordinator to maintain a clean, functioning related to lab support for simulation experiences.
7. Assist the Undergraduate Simulation Center Coordinator to maintain a clean, functioning area within the Simulation Center for students and faculty.
8. Responsible for maintaining assigned "champion area" within the Simulation Center.
9. Remains abreast of existing and emerging technologies, processes, products, services and leading industry performance benchmarks.
10. Works effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering LU's mission.
Qualifications, Credentials, and Competencies
Minimum Qualifications:
The candidate needs to be a team player and have a flexible schedule. This position would report directly to the Undergraduate Simulation Center Coordinator and provide assistance when the Undergraduate Simulation Center Coordinator or Director are unavailable. The Student must be a residential Liberty University student who is work study qualified. Candidates must have the ability to work 18 hours per week. Candidates must be critical thinkers, technologically savvy, and highly motivated team players. Must have and maintain a minimum of 2.5 overall GPA. Must also be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs. Must be able to work 8 hours on Mondays and Fridays.
Preferred Qualifications:
Successful candidates will possess excellent oral and written communication skills, customer service skills, demonstrate computer proficiency, be team focused, and possess the ability to both follow instructions and lead others, a Christ-like attitude, and the ability to function responsibly with minimum direct supervision. Applicants with knowledge in Computer Science, Engineering, BMIS, and CSIT programs are preferred.
