Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced, full charge bookkeeper to manage the day-to-day accounting needs of the company, along with select administrative duties. PT hours will range from 30-35 weekly, with flexibility on days (M-TH or T-FRI). This person will report directly to the owner and will communicate regularly with our CPA, subcontractors, professional service providers, and vendors.


The ideal candidate has advanced knowledge across all phases of bookkeeping — including job costing, budgeting, forecasting, and progress billing — and can manage the company’s accounting with efficiency, precision, and sound judgment.


Compensation & Benefits

Annual bonus

PTO: additional 10 calendar days per year


Responsibilities

Perform full-cycle accounting, including job costing, budgeting, quality control, financial reporting, and financial transactions (GL, AP, etc.)

Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly job costing and budget analysis

Prepare journal entries

Reconcile bank accounts, investment accounts, and credit cards

Assist with company insurance policies

Ensure compliance with state and federal tax requirements, 1099s, payroll, and city/county regulations

Prepare and review budgets

Prepare and review weekly and monthly financial reports

Assess cash flow projections

Run weekly check runs

Process bank deposits

Support ad hoc projects as needed


Qualifications

5+ years of construction accounting experience

7+ years of full charge/full cycle bookkeeping experience

5+ years of job costing and budget forecasting experience

Advanced proficiency in Excel, Word, and Dropbox

Strong experience with QuickBooks Online and Desktop


Key Skills

Able to multitask effectively in a small office environment

High level of accuracy and attention to detail
