Salary Range: $17.21- $22.95. Maximum salary upon new hire is $17.21
Position Level: 5
Working Hours and/or Working Conditions: WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to move chairs and tables.HOURS: To be scheduled by the department as needed, but not to exceed 25 hours per week. Working days and hours may vary and include evenings and weekends. Duties may also require travel between and off campus.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to work effectively with a diverse student population, faculty and staff. Ability to work in a team-oriented environment. Must have strong customer service, interpersonal and organizational skills. Must be able to work independently. Must have a general familiarity with personal computers including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
Supervision: SUPERVISION RECEIVED: General direction and supervision from the Managers of Student Life and Leadership and Coordinator for Student Life and Leadership.SUPERVISION GIVEN: Supervise other part-time employees as assigned.
Job Function
Assist managers and coordinator with planning, implementing and assessing comprehensive campus activities, leadership development, student organization involvement programs and volunteer opportunities.
Job Responsibilities
  • Advise student organizations and foster the development of new clubs and organizations
  • Coordinate and implement programs as assigned, including but not limited to annual college events and social, educational, and diversity programs.
  • Implement on/off campus community service programs.
  • Track and report attendance and engagement metrics for campus activities.
  • Complete event and program evaluations summarizing outcomes and recommendations for improvement. Assist in development and implementation of leadership programming.
  • Produce and update the student organizations manual.
  • Serve on college committees and task forces, as assigned
  • Coordinate posting fliers on campus bulletin boards.
  • Provide customer service to students, including greeting at the door and answering phones and acting as a point of contact for office inquiries.
  • Assist with event needs, including setting up rooms, furniture and audio visual equipment, as assigned
  • Assist with college emergency drills as assigned.
  • Assist with coordinating day to day office operations including part time staff scheduling.
  • Assist with the day to day building operations, including but not limited to opening and closing of facility space.
  • Assist with coordinating the hiring and training of college work-study staff
  • Oversee game room operations.
  • Assist with Commencement and Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service activities.
  • Enter event and catering information into college event management system.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education
Associate Degree or equivalent.
Qualifications
One year experience in event planning and implementation and evaluation of activities, programs and volunteer opportunities.
Part-time employees are eligible for some Macomb Community College benefits including retirement with the Michigan Office of Retirement Services, as well as voluntary options for retirement. Part-time employees are also eligible for accrual of PTO and tuition waivers.
