Job Description
This part-time position in the Academic Support Center (ASC) may require flexible working hours. This position aims to support and empower students to succeed by providing tutoring and academic resources in a friendly, respectful, and safe learning environment.
Note: At this time, there is no specific need. This is for a pool of applicants as needs arise.

Essential Duties Summary
1. Provide individual and/or group tutoring and academic support in-person and/or online
2. Complete all required documentation for student visits to the ASC, including importing information into the electronic data collection system
3. Navigate the online booking system and show students how to book electronic appointments for tutoring in-person or online
4. Keep current with subject area information and best practices
5. Partner with instructors for student success, including collaborating through embedded support as requested by supervisor
6. Work collaboratively with others in a team environment; communicate effectively through Microsoft Teams, WCC email, and other college communication
7. Support the overall ASC operations and shared responsibilities as required; market the ASC to students, faculty, and community
8. Other related duties, training, and development as required by supervisor
Required Qualifications
Peer Tutors: Instructor recommendation Professional Tutors: Degree in subject area or related field
  • Strong computer skills (including familiarity with MS Office) and commitment to the use of technology in tutoring
  • Ability to work effectively and collaborate with others in a team environment
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills

Prior tutoring or teaching experience
