Position Summary

Under the direct supervision of Operations, this position is responsible for serving the guests at a counter, in a restaurant, casino floor, in a bar. Ensures adherence to all policies and procedures while contributing to a safe and welcoming work environment for all team members. Ensures adherence to the Company's policies and procedures, motivates and leads by example and supports Great Canadian's learning environment while establishing a safe and welcoming work environment for all team members.

Key Accountabilities 

  • Greets guests by name wherever possible
  • Escorts guests to a table when applicable; presents menus; informs guests of daily specials
  • Explains how various menu items or beverages are prepared
  • Takes the guest orders; makes recommendations
  • Serves the guests; checks to ensure satisfaction
  • Prepares food and beverages if applicable
  • Resolves guests issues or asks management for assistance
  • Presents bill upon request; takes payment in the absence of a cashier
  • Cleans table s or counters; removes dishes; re-stocks where applicable
  • Performs opening or closing duties as required
  • Counts cash float at end of shift when applicable
  • Covers other servers' sections when required
  • Exercises good judgment when serving alcoholic beverages
  • Liaises and communicates effectively with all appropriate operational departments
  • Develops and cultivates strong working relationships with all stakeholders: guests, ownership and team members
  • Ensures compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations
  • Performs other duties as assigned or directed

Education and Qualifications

  • High School Diploma
  • Minimum 1 year serving experience effective and service-oriented communication
  • POS experience
  • Valid Smart Serve Certification
  • Ability to successfully obtain a Gaming License
  • Ability to exceed internal and external customer expectations through timely,
