Job description

The Holton-Arms School Fine and Performing Arts Adjunct Program seeks a collaborative, flexible, and enthusiastic Part-Time Flute Teacher to provide private instruction to students of all ages. The Arts Adjunct program provides students with the opportunity to develop their artistic voice, by deepening their skills and competencies around music skills, techniques, and musicianship. Lessons may occur after 3:30 PM on school days and may be scheduled over the weekend.

 Candidates will need to be capable of providing differentiated instruction to meet the needs of students with a range of skill sets and prior experience. All aspects of Holton-Arms programming help develop students' competencies around Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging, Social Emotional Learning, and Global Education. These are integral to the Arts program, and qualified candidates will be prepared to continue and expand upon our work in these areas. The Arts Adjunct program seeks to create a space where students feel prepared to take risks, grow, and deepen their understanding of themselves, others, and their world, and we invite candidates who are excited to be a part of this work.

Qualifications:

  • 3 to 5 years of relevant teaching experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in instrumental music or music education (masters in music or professional performance experience preferred).
  • Availability in the evenings
  • Experience teaching and working with students of all ages.
  • Passionate about working in a single-gender educational environment.
  • Committed to creating a student-centered experience.
  • Prepares students for recitals, auditions, and other community performances
  • Creative and innovative teaching artists with a sense of humor and strong communication skills.

Pay: $78.00 per hour lesson
