Position Overview:
The Department of Nursing is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Clinical Adjunct Faculty member to supervise and mentor nursing students in both clinical and laboratory settings. The ideal candidate will provide hands-on instruction, facilitate student learning, and ensure students meet clinical competencies and program learning outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise assigned students during clinical rotations, including orientation to clinical units, assignment of patient care experiences, and guidance in applying nursing principles.
  • Prepare lesson plans, clinical learning activities, and materials that support course objectives and student development.
  • Observe and evaluate student performance regularly, providing constructive written and verbal feedback on care plans, clinical procedures, projects, and assignments.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance, clinical observations, and any incidents that occur during clinical experiences.
  • Collaborate with Course Coordinators, Clinical Site Coordinators, and other faculty to assess student progress, adjust teaching strategies, and ensure quality learning experiences.
  • Assist with laboratory preparation, demonstrations, and student skill development as needed.
  • Foster a positive learning environment through strong professional relationships with healthcare facility staff and students.
  • Participate in faculty meetings, professional development activities, and other University initiatives as required.
  • Serve as a role model, promoting professionalism, critical thinking, and ethical practice in nursing.

Requested Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing and current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in Maryland.
  • Clinical experience in relevant nursing specialties; prior teaching or clinical supervision experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
