Rockbridge Area Health Center (RAHC) is seeking an experienced Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our integrated behavioral health team on a part-time basis. This position offers 24-29 hours per week with flexible scheduling, providing an opportunity to maintain a rewarding clinical practice while supporting work-life balance.
As a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), RAHC provides integrated medical, behavioral health, dental, and supportive services to address the whole health of our patients. Our PMHNP works collaboratively with primary care providers, licensed clinical social workers, behavioral health counselors, care managers, and other members of the clinical team.

The Role
As a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner at RAHC, you will provide psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, medication management, and ongoing treatment for patients with a range of behavioral health needs.
You will practice as part of an integrated care team, collaborating closely with behavioral health clinicians and primary care providers to develop coordinated treatment plans and improve patient outcomes.
This position is ideal for an experienced PMHNP who values clinical autonomy, interdisciplinary support, and the flexibility of a part-time practice.
Qualifications
  • Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner certification (PMHNP-BC)
  • Current, unrestricted Virginia APRN licensure or eligibility to obtain Virginia licensure
  • Current DEA registration or eligibility to obtain
  • Eligible to participate in Medicare and Medicaid
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification with hands-on practicum
  • Previous psychiatric/behavioral health practice experience required
  • Commitment to evidence-based, compassionate, patient-centered care
