Job description

Position Title: Registered Nurse II (RN II)
Department: Rural Health Clinics (RHC)
Reports To:
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Position Summary
The Registered Nurse II (RN II) independently delivers patient care across clinic settings and demonstrates competency in both primary care and walk-in/urgent care environments.

Essential Functions
  • Provide direct patient care including assessments, treatments, and medication administration
  • Assist providers during exams, procedures, and treatments
  • Monitor patient condition and report changes
  • Educate patients and families on care plans and follow-up
  • Document care accurately in the electronic health record
  • Administer vaccines and injections
  • Support clinic flow and operations
  • Collaborate with care team members
  • Travel between clinic locations as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Performs all duties independently and consistently
  • Competent in PCP and walk-in/urgent care workflows
  • Demonstrates strong clinical judgment
  • Supports patient flow and care coordination

Qualifications
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited RN program
  • Experience: Demonstrated competency in RN role
  • Licensure/Certifications:
    • Active Virginia RN license (required)
    • BLS certification (required)
