Job Summary and Description
Position responsible for teaching Continuing Education classes. Continuing Education Instructors are hired in a part-time capacity contingent upon the needs of the department. Classes are offered during daytime, evenings, and weekends as well as some College holidays. Classes are offered at various times and locations during the academic year.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience:
  • 5 years of experience as a paid Firefighter or 10 years as a volunteer Firefighter

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Associate degree in Fire Science or a related field or higher
  • Bachelor's degree in Fire Science or a related field or higher
  • Teaching Experience in Basic Fire Academy Courses at a Fire Academy or Fire Department
  • 5 years of paid experience as a Texas Fire Fighter
  • 10 years of volunteer experience as a Texas Fire Fighter

Licenses and Certifications:
  • Texas Commission on Fire Protection
  • Basic Structural Fire Fighter
  • Fire Instructor I
  • Fire Instructor II
  • Field Examiner

Motor Vehicle Report is required in addition to background check and drug screen
