Job description

Financial Analyst III
The Division of Technology Services (DTS) finance department is currently hiring for a financial analyst III position. This position will focus on budgets and forecasts as well as rate setting. The candidate chosen will work cross functionally with other departments, including Hosting, Network, Desktop, and Operations to help plan and report business expenses, execute strategy, asses performance, as well as provide insights and analytics for decision making across the Division.
This is a very Unique role. You will be a key asset in the future growth of the Division: these functions act as the analytical engine of the company, providing insights and supporting optimal business decision making. Financial analysts leverage strong accounting and compliance backgrounds to explore historical financial data, predict future results and drive process and policy improvements.

Key Responsibilities
Primary Duties
  • Analyzing current and past financial data and performance
  • Providing financial models and forecating
  • Evaluating current capital expenditures and depreciation
  • Identifying trends in financial performance and providing recommendations for improvement
  • Assist with the analyzing of actual results agains plan and forecast and prepare analysis as required
  • Coordinating with other members of teh finance team to review financial information and forecasts
  • Detailed analysis with understanding of key drivers to forecast cost trends
  • Develop a detailed understanding of business processes, looking for both control gaps and opportunities to gain process efficiency.
  • Preparing reports and projections based on analysis
  • Illustrating financial trends with charts and graphs
  • Ad-Hoc reporting, analysis, and special projects as required
  • Provide oversight and mentorship as needed

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Detail oriented, with unquestionable integrity and credibility.
  • Ability to "connect the dots" for others across multiple data points, make connections upstream/downstream that may not be easily noticeable.
  • Skilled in using Microsoft Excel
  • Presenting creative and logical solutions to identified problems
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills, including documentation of findings and recommendations.
  • Drives solid understanding of cost structure/drivers by division/BU and partners with the ops leadership team to drive productivity.
  • Demonstrates strong leadership, analytical, problem solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Communicates and demonstrates judgement, tact and diplomacy in dealing with internal customers within a matrix organization.
  • Possesses initiative, enthusiasm, intellectual curiosity, a positive attitude and ability to perform as a team player.
  • Good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate with all levels of management.
  • Highly motivated and proactive, with strong organizational and project management skills to multitask and manage workload to timely completion.
  • Works independently, meets deadlines.
