Job description

Summary:
The Field Service Technician supports the service team in providing technical assistance, maintenance, and troubleshooting for SAMSON control valves and related equipment. This role offers hands-on experience in valve repair, diagnostics, and field service operations while assisting with disassembly, inspection, testing, and documentation of equipment. The Field Service Technician collaborates with technicians, supports customer communication, and helps coordinate shop and field activities, including material handling and shipping. This position is designed to develop mechanical, technical, and organizational skills while contributing to reliable product performance and customer satisfaction. This is a temporary part-time position and is expected to last approximately three to six months.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Perform disassembly, cleaning, inspection, measuring, reassembly, and testing of valves at Samson facilities.
  • Perform and document maintenance, calibration, installation, fault diagnosis, and repair of electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic instruments and systems.
  • Plan, organize, and prioritize assigned responsibilities and coordinate work with employees.
  • Customer communication - technical assistance, troubleshooting, and determining disposition of repairs.
  • Documentation of repair / testing / assembly activities - cause of failure, actions taken, parts used, labor hours, etc.
  • Material Sourcing- Assistance with parts picking and receiving for shop/field repairs.
  • Shipping- Assistance with preparation of shipments i.e. spare parts, valves, tool shipments.

Qualifications:
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing; have strong organizational skills and eye for detail.
  • Proficiency with computers including MS Office applications such as Excel and Outlook as well as other computer-based work training, time reporting, expense reporting, and on-line work applications and documentation.
  • Must be able to adjust or move objects up to 50 pounds in all directions and team lift up to 150 pounds.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.

Education & Experience:
  • High School diploma or GED
