SouthWest Metro Intermediate District #288 has a part-time opening beginning August 2026 for a high school Family and Consumer Science/Work-Based Learning teacher to teach for our Career & Technical/alternative/online programs located at Dean Lakes Education Center in Shakopee, MN.

Description:
High School Family and Consumer Science/Work-Based Learning Teacher, 185 contract days, .75 FTE
Job Summary:
Educate, plan, teach, and facilitate three Career & Technical courses (Intro to Education, CDA, and First Year Experience College Prep), which include concurrent enrollment at Normandale Community College and CDA certification.
Qualifications:
  • Minnesota Teaching License for HS FCS/Work-Based Learning (Willing to consider Out of Field Permissions or Tier 1/Tier 2 License)
  • Experience with multiple instructional designs and differentiated instruction.
  • Strong classroom management skills.
  • Ability to build successful relationships with students, parents and staff.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with teams.
  • Ability to be certified to teach Intro to Education college course/ Master's in Education.

Pay & Benefits:
The pay range for this position is $55,000-102,0000 (for 1.0 FTE) based on education and experience. A competitive and comprehensive benefit package is also available.
