Key Responsibilities
The Bartender will be successful when:
  • Metro Detroit Venue and Forte Belanger's private events are flawlessly executed, with high quality libations and service throughout the event season.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
DAILY OPERATIONS
  • Attends pre shift meetings with event managers and team to review event's briefing and timing
  • Ensure the bar set-up is executed in a timely manner
  • Set up, and break down bar products and glassware per event
  • Batch signature cocktails based on recipe when requested
  • Set up and manage non-alcoholic beverage stations throughout the event
  • Assist in the set up and break down of cocktail area and dining room when applicable (polishing glassware, silverware, table linens, etc.)
  • Take direction from event manager and lead staff
  • Creates a welcoming and hospitable environment for all guests while anticipating their needs
  • Identifies opportunities and ensure that guest's expectations are met
  • Demonstrate sound knowledge of specialty and classic and signature cocktails (ingredients, specs, build), wine, beer, and beverage offerings
  • Maintains fluency in all menu items and ingredients with the ability to suggest beverage pairings
  • Follows proper steps of service with grace, while maintaining a sense of urgency throughout service
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, including the dining area
  • Communicates effectively with staff members, management, and the culinary team during service
  • Able to assist service dining team with dinner service in fine dinner atmosphere
  • Practice lateral service and actively look for ways to help team members
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned from time to time by management
  • Upholds high standards and positive attitude to ensure the best experience

EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE
  • Must be 17 years or older
  • Must have one year of bartending experience, knowledge of techniques and equipment for serving, storing and handling food and beverage products
  • Efficient in describing and serving different types of liquor, cocktails, beer and wines
  • Preferred TIPS Certification or can pass TIPS Class to become certified
