Event Technology Support Technician (Part-Time)
Trail Drive Management Corporation Properties:
Trail Drive Management Corp. (TDMC) is a not-for-profit venue management company in Fort Worth, Texas. TDMC manages all aspects of venue management, including but not limited to event booking, event management, marketing, IT, technical services, food & beverage, parking, security, housekeeping, changeover, maintenance, and more. TDMC manages several venues in Fort Worth, TX.
Job Summary:
Trail Drive Management Corp (TDMC) is looking for a part-time Event Technology Support Technician who will work with the Technology team to support event needs in a wide range of IT and technical areas. Working primarily evenings, weekends, and holidays based on the event schedule, this role supports Food & Beverage, Ticketing, Guest Services, Operations, and other venue departments by troubleshooting technology issues in real time.
This position will be 100% on-site.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Provide first-line technology support during arena events and special functions.
  • Respond to and troubleshoot technology issues impacting staff, guests, vendors, and event operations.
  • Document incidents, troubleshooting steps, and issue resolutions.
  • Maintain a professional and customer-focused approach while supporting venue operations.
  • Monitor venue Wi-Fi and wireless infrastructure performance before, during, and after events.
  • Assist with troubleshooting wireless connectivity issues affecting operational and guest-facing systems.
  • Support the diagnosis of access point, endpoint, and device connectivity concerns.
  • Coordinate with network administrators on escalated wireless and connectivity issues.
  • Use network test equipment to verify wired copper and fiber connections are functioning properly.
  • Support basic testing and validation of network drops, patch panels, switches, and connected devices.
  • Support Food & Beverage operations by troubleshooting POS terminals, printers, payment devices, and related peripherals.
  • Assist Guest Services and Ticket Operations staff with technology-related concerns including ticket scanners, handheld devices, and related systems.
  • Coordinate with 24/7 integrated communications personnel, communications vendors, and support teams regarding radio and communication system issues.
  • Assist with deployment, collection, and basic configuration of communications equipment.
  • Support technology needs in operational areas, premium spaces, back-of-house locations, and event control areas.
  • Assist users with workstation, software, printer, mobile device, and peripheral issues.
  • Support password resets, account troubleshooting, and general user assistance as directed.
  • Perform related duties as assigned or requested.

Qualifications:
  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One (1) year or more of customer service, technical support, help desk, or related experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently investigate technical issues, identify potential root causes, and recommend appropriate resolutions.
  • Basic understanding of computer hardware, mobile devices, printers, and peripherals.
  • Basic understanding of wired and wireless networking concepts.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft 365 applications.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours based on event schedules.
  • Able to communicate effectively with management, guests, and team members.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating effectively with team members.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Have experience supporting technology in a sports, entertainment, hospitality, convention center, or live-event environment.
  • Have experience supporting POS systems, ticketing and communications systems, or network infrastructure.
  • Be familiar with structured cabling, network switches, wireless access points, and endpoint connectivity troubleshooting.
  • Have experience using network diagnostic and testing tools, including cable testers, fiber testing equipment, or similar troubleshooting devices.
  • Have experience supporting handheld devices, scanners, and mobile technology.
  • Possess CompTIA A+, Network+, Cisco CCNA, Microsoft 365, or similar technical certification.
  • Possess an outgoing personality suited to providing exceptional customer service and a commitment to continuous self-improvement.
  • Work well under high-pressure situations.

Working Conditions:
  • Employees will work in an environment with fluctuating temperatures.
  • Employees must have the ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Employees will regularly spend their shift standing/walking, traveling stairs, with limited to no sitting.
  • Employees will be exposed to high noise levels and/or fluctuating lights in event settings.
  • Employees must have the ability to reach, lift, and bend to perform job duties throughout the shift.
  • Employees must be available to work part-time, event-driven shifts primarily during evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Other Duties:
  • Typical event shifts may range from approximately 7 to 8 hours, with many evening shifts occurring around 4:30 pm ๏ฟฝ 11:30 pm based on event needs.
  • During the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo (Mid-January through early February), there will be opportunities for significant consecutive-day shifts ranging from 8 am ๏ฟฝ 8 pm
