Job Summary
As a Keyholder / Barista, you play an important role in delivering exceptional guest experiences while supporting the daily operations of the store. This position blends retail sales with café service, allowing you to craft high-quality beverages, assist guests with merchandise, and support store operations including opening and closing procedures. You will work closely with the management team to maintain strong service standards, meet sales goals, and create memorable moments for every guest in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Guest Experience & Sales
    • Promptly greet all guests and offer assistance to provide exceptional guest service.
    • Prepare and serve coffee, specialty beverages and food items with quality and consistency.
    • Engage guests in conversation using open-ended questions to recommend products, beverages, and promotional items.
    • Practice suggestive selling to increase sales and enhance the guest experience.
    • Maintain strong knowledge of store merchandise, beverages, promotions, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
    • Educate guests on food, beverage, and retail offerings.

Store Operations
    • Support daily store operations including opening and closing procedures.
    • Accurately process transactions through the POS system, including cash, credit cards, employee discounts, guest room charges, and hotel property charges.
    • Monitor and record daily waste to support operational efficiency.
    • Assist with merchandising and maintain visual presentation standards for food, beverage, and retail products.

Cleanliness, Safety & Compliance
    • Maintain store cleanliness and adhere to food safety and sanitation standards.
    • Follow all company, hotel, and local health department guidelines.
    • Recognize and address potential security risks while protecting company assets.
    • Follow all applicable state and federal laws, including policies related to loss prevention, timekeeping, and store operations.

Team Collaboration
    • Work collaboratively with team members to achieve store sales and service goals.
    • Foster a positive, inclusive, and service-focused work environment.
    • Support leadership by modeling strong service standards and operational excellence.

Skills & Qualifications
    • Previous experience as a keyholder, barista, or retail/food service associate preferred.
    • Friendly, outgoing personality with a strong hospitality mindset.
    • Passion for coffee, beverages, and delivering exceptional guest experiences.
    • Strong communication, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
    • Experience with merchandising and maintaining visually appealing displays.
    • Basic knowledge of food safety practices (Food Handler's Card preferred).
    • Must be 21 years of age for liquor sales (where applicable).
    • Flexible availability including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Demands

    • Frequent standing and walking for up to 8 hours per shift (except during required breaks).

    • Ability to read, count, and complete required operational paperwork accurately.
