Job description

Georgia Equine Veterinary Hospital and Services is seeking a full-time Veterinarian to join our team in the Greater Atlanta area!

  • Privately Owned
  • Full Service Surgical Hospital
  • Modern haul-in facility with full surgical capabilities
  • 4-day work week with part-time opportunities available

Located in the heart of North Georgia horse country, we are committed to the care and well-being of each animal we treat. Big enough for all of your equine needs, but small enough to know your name.

About the practice: Georgia Equine Veterinary Hospital and Services is a full-service surgical hospital, also offering complete equine ambulatory veterinary services and emergency care services with a modern haul-in facility with full surgical capabilities. The GEVS staff brings you a broad depth of experience in the diagnosis and treatment of illness, injury, and lameness concerns. We also understand the special needs of the aging equine and those with chronic conditions.

What You'll Do: This role provides an exciting opportunity to work with a diverse caseload utilizing advanced diagnostic and treatment tools:

  • Practice Focus: Primary care medicine, sports medicine, reproduction, surgery, and emergency care.
  • Diagnostics: Conduct farm visits/haul-in appointments and perform diagnostics using digital radiography, ultrasonography, video endoscopy, and gastroscopy.
  • Treatments: Utilize cutting-edge treatment modalities, including shockwave therapy, power dentistry, PRP, IRAP, and Pro-Stride for joint and soft tissue injuries.
  • Hospital Facilities: Access to a full surgery suite and 5 hospital stalls equipped with cameras.
  • Collaboration: Work alongside a skilled team of veterinarians and technicians, participating in regular client education events.

About the area: Georgia Equine Veterinary Hospital and Services is located in the picturesque town of Canton, GA, nestled in the heart of Georgia’s horse country (the greater Atlanta area). Our area offers a beautiful blend of rural charm and access to nearby urban amenities, providing the perfect environment for equine practice and outdoor lifestyle enthusiasts (hiking, biking, and lake activities are all within the practice area).

Requirements

The Ideal Candidate: We are looking for a veterinarian with a strong interest in equine medicine and a collaborative spirit:

  • DVM or equivalent degree required.
  • Eligibility for or current Georgia state veterinary license.
  • Strong interest in equine lameness and sports medicine is a must; surgical interest is a bonus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with clients and staff.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to participate in a shared on-call rotation.

Benefits

What we offer:

  • Compensation: $80k-$100k base + 21-25% Production | Salary dependent on part-time or full-time hours.
  • Schedule: A regularly scheduled 4-day work week and evenly divided on-call coverage to ensure genuine work-life balance.
  • Professional Coverage: Fully equipped practice vehicle provided, licensure fees, liability insurance, and membership dues covered.
  • Health and Wellness: Health, dental, and vision insurance provided.
  • Growth: CE stipend provided with opportunities for career development and mentorship.
