The role is based in Cedar Rapids, IA (onsite role) and is a part-time position (20 hours per week, hourly). Where You'll Make a Difference
  • Perform standardized laboratory tests supporting quality assurance, research, and development activities related to grain processing applications
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of assay results, observations, and basic data analysis
  • Interpret findings and communicate results clearly to laboratory personnel and project stakeholders
  • Conduct routine maintenance, calibration, and basic troubleshooting of laboratory equipment
  • Ensure assay quality and reliability by following established laboratory methods, protocols, and safety procedures
  • Keep the laboratory organized, clean, and compliant with safety and operational standards
  • Apply laboratory protocols consistently while supporting continuous improvement in grain processing analyses

What Makes You the Right Fit
  • Graduating or having graduated with an Associate of Arts (AA) degree in microbiology, biotechnology, chemistry, food technology, or a related scientific field
  • At least 6 months of experience working in a laboratory environment
  • Basic understanding of laboratory practices, documentation, and safety requirements
  • Ability to follow established procedures with accuracy and consistency
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data integrity
  • Ability to communicate findings clearly, both verbally and in writing
